Model PHWS Electric Boiler

The PHWS indirect fired water heater uses existing thermal energy sources to heat domestic hot water. The vessel is fitted with a shell-and-tube heat exchanger that accepts either process steam or high temperature hot water to heat the potable water stored inside the NSF-61 compliant vessel. For ease of installation, the water heater is shipped fully assembled and ready to use with all the accessories factory-sized, pre-piped and pre-wired. The PHWS saves time, money and manpower that would otherwise be used to install a separate fuel-burning device inside the facility.

Options

The PHWS indirect fired water heaters are available with or without insulation and jacketing. Vessels are available in both 125 psi (400 gal. and larger) and 150 psi design pressures; both can be ordered in either horizontal or vertical configurations. All models are lined with either Precision Seal (PS) or Aluminum Silicate Cement (C), both of which are NSF-61 compliant.

  • Precision Seal, our two-part epoxy alternative to glass lining, is suitable for storing water up to 180°F; unlike glass, it can be repaired in the field.

  • Cement-lined vessels are suitable for tanks larger than 36 inches in diameter and for higher temperature service, up to 250°F.
  • Cement-lined vessels include a ten-year warranty; the last five years are prorated.
  • Potable water is heated by a single-wall or double-wall shell-&-tube heat exchanger(s) equipped with either copper or copper-nickel tubes and selected to fit the unique recovery requirements of each application.
  • Can be water-to-water or steam-to-water.
